Introduction to Scene Analysis

The purpose of the scene analysis was to pick a climatic scene in a film and analyze the film tools that the director uses in a way that the reader will clearly understand the reasons as to why the director did what they did. The audience I feel would be anybody interested in Sci-Fi movies or TV shows. While writing this piece I asked myself, “what aspects of the scene specifically convey the theme I chose? what did the author decide to do to portray this theme and why? What things will the viewer not see at first glance and how does that support my claim? What I learned from this piece was that there is much more beneath the surface when it comes to films. There are so many deeper meanings within objects, people, colors, and more. I feel the strength of the paper were the ideas I presented when it came to explaining the things that I saw and why I feel they portrayed the theme in the way that they did. The weakness I feel was the way I connected my explanations back to the theme in the rough draft. This assignment made me understand “voice in writing” because when watching movies and reading books, people perceive and understand things differently based on life experience and beliefs. So when giving explanations they will all be in some way different due to how the person sees it.
