Introduction to Visual Analysis

The purpose of this piece was to look at a work of art and find the deeper meaning behind the different element within to come up with an overall theme. The paper is a casual explanation to a person who is also looking at the same piece. You are just explaining that you perceive it to have. While writing I asked myself things such as, what does each thing mean separately?, what does one thing mean in correlation to another thing?, over what does everything mean together?, and so on. I feel the strongest aspect of this piece were the meanings behind each element I chose to focus on. The weakest I would say would be how I struggled to connect each element back to one singular theme. This assignment helps to understand “voice in writing” because when looking at a painting not everyone is going to automatically think of the same thing, everyone has different experiences so they might connect some things to certain memories.
